Aspergers and eating out - a surreal experience

 

Last year I wrote about my experiences/ordeals with Working Lunches!

 

This surreal short film, by Jan Svankmajer (1992), uses a number of metaphors to highlight the human condition.

But as far as I am aware, Autism was not an intended theme of this film.

However, it manages to capture quite accurately, how I often/usually experience the ritual of eating out.

• The experiences portrayed are of course absurdly exaggerated
• But it is a very good portrayal of the confusion and awkwardness that I often feel in a restaurant
